In a small, white collar suburban community just outside of Salt Lake City, Utah the ex- offender we spoke with (he asked us to keep his identity confidential) had been a model citizen, receiving promotion after promotion at work, avoiding all negative influences from his prior life, and even started his own foundation to assist in the rehabilitation of fellow Federal and State offenders. He was released from probation, had moved on in a world where he would finally be able to be productive and could use the skills and tools that he learned to assist the less fortunate. Life was good..His success hasn't come easily. The light haired 38-year-old is an ex-offender who had served in the Federal...

Rick Archer sat down with Don Nadeau, the president of BidonTravel.com, which provides Priceline bidding advice.RA: Why would anyone want to use Priceline? DN: You'll save a lot of money.RA: Yes, but who wants to get up in time for a 6:00 a.m. flight? You can't pick your departure times or airline or anything like that.DN: Well, just use Priceline for air tickets when you're going to Australia or traveling at the last minute. You'll save hundreds of dollars. When you can plan your U.S. travel well in advance, Priceline may not be your best bet.But always bid on Priceline hotels. That's easy and you don't have to get up at 4:00 a.m.RA: Sure, but I don't want to stay in some crummy place.DN: No, no...

Indian Jewelry makes the kind of "Wild Rumpus" sounds that the castaway kids do around their bonfire in "The Lord of the Flies". It's equal parts liberating and dangerous. Their new CD, "Invasive Exotics" (Monitor Records) is a strange and hypnotic ride through the subconscious that doesn't only aim at the head, but shakes your body as well. This mutant hybrid of ethno-voodoo, industrial death disco is just the right tonic for these gray times. It's a multi-headed and colorful mix that after repeated listens reveals a literate and political undertone. Indian jewelry is letting their freak flag fly and believe me folks, we're all the better for it! I recently shot a few questions their way via email...

Going past the San Mateo BridgeThere's plenty of good sailing north of the San Mateo Bridge. Sailors must be aware of the shallow water extending from the western tower of the main span of the bridge northward past the red marker number "8A". There's one other shoal to look out for, the San Bruno Shoal which is covered by as little as 2 feet of water at low tide. San Bruno Shoal is locate east of the main channel adjacent to markers "4" and "6". Sailboats don't have to stay in the marked channel but should avoid the area of San Bruno Shoal.Coyote Point Harbor makes a good destination for those going north of the San Mateo for a day's sail. OK, let's establish some ground rules. It's called the City, not Manhattan. And under no circumstance should you ever say New York City. Yes, we know some New Yorkers do take things a bit too far and say they are from the City even when they are visiting relatives in Tulsa - where the nickname really loses its luster.Whatever it is you are trying to do while you're in the City, do it quickly and get out of the way. That applies to ordering at the deli (where do you think the Soup Nazi idea came from?), riding the escalators, crossing the street or buying a paper. Things have a faster pace up here and people like it that way. This City will eat you alive if you don't prepare properly. But even with...

This is something you would want to discuss with a lawyer.Different entities also provide different tax advantages and disadvantages. The type of entity really depends on the business and how many people own the business. There seems to be a trend to leave the cities - to get in touch with one's own self. People seem to start listening to the little voices inside of themselves, their gut feeling or nudges. Word got out, that there are friendly people wherever you go, especially out west and in the country, where they can grow a garden, raise livestock, hunt and fish and where people can be more independent of the things the rest of the world is doing. If someone has a job they can do from home, there are Internet connections available via satellite from even the very remotest spots, and most small towns make it a point to have Internet connections available. One of the most commonly listed impairments on social security disability and ssi disability applications is lower back pain. Why is this condition so "common"? Well, it's simply due to the way humans are built. The lower back area (particularly L5-S1) is the point at which we bend to pick up things and we often use it as a fulcrum to lift heavy objects.Unfortunately, because lower back problems are seen so often on disability applications, they tend to be viewed by disability examiners in a dismissive way. The typical examiner will look at a disability app that lists back pain as the only allegation and will think to themselves, "Back pain, is that all?". From day one, when the file lands on the...

Every Real Estate Agent has a pretty good idea how important a website can be for generating real estate leads. It is a well known fact that something like 60% of all people looking to buy a home in the U.S. and Canada look to the web as their first source of information. That means there are thousands of people looking to the web for real estate information about every community in the country. But relatively few real estate agents know how to tap into this huge mass of web surfers. As an online marketer, your objective should be to turn your website into a lead generating machine. It is not easy. There are millions of websites that no one ever looks at, and many of them are real estate websites. In...

IntroductionMen are innately self-centred. Due to this characteristic, countless problems are flourished, and if there is no any official institution to govern men’s negative nature, the whole state would steps toward anarchy. Single-mindedly targets to offer possible benefits to its people, nearly all government in the world is divided between the three; executive, legislative, and judicial. Professor George Mckenna, in one of his excerpts called “Why Government,” claims that government has four basic compulsions to be executed (McKenna, 1998, 7).Democratic Kampuchea, on other hand, drew a completely outlook from what Professor George Mckenna has claimed above. So I decided it would be a good idea to tell him, and many others, a bit about how Internet became what it is today. I will keep it simple, avoiding the usage of technical terms.Back on 1969, a network called ARPANET was born. This network evolved to be the Internet we know today. Or perhaps one on their anus, which says; I Am a Thief. But that's not all apparently other USDA workers have used government credit cards to buy a car and another one to go to an Ozzy Osbourne Concert onto the taxpayer's dime. They must've had one hell of a night buying a car, Ozzy Osbourne concert tickets and stopping to get a tattoo or two. It's amazing that the United States Federal Government and to the USDA cannot...

Last week I received a very nice thank you gift from a friend of mine, Eric Ruth, who is arguably the number one marketing coach to the personal fitness trainer industry.Eric, asked if he could interview me about a specific topic and I agreed. After it was done, Eric sent me a bunch of filet mignon steaks from Omaha Steaks (Thanks Eric). But the steaks are not what this article is about. It's what was inside the Omaha Steaks box that I want to talk to you about. You see, two things came with the steaks. Life was good..His success hasn't come easily. The light haired 38-year-old is an ex-offender who had served in the Federal...

Imagine bringing your spouse and kids to a meeting with seven of your salespersonnel. Sitting off to your left, Miss Wright asks the question on the minds of all her fellow sales colleagues, "Why did you bring your family to our meeting today? Will they be playing any sort of role in our discussion?" You simply respond, "No, they're just here so I can tend to their needs."Of course, this is a highly unlikely scenario. You don't bring your family into work with you every day. However, Heather Howitt does. Howitt, the CEO of Oregon Chai in Portland, Oregon...

We have had our customers complain (customers of the carwash business, which is my profession). Oh they love the gadget, but they are under whelmed by the lack of data and streets, which are not listed. You see we have been seeing incredible suburban growth in many cities. Places near large DMA metros are a problem out in the middle class suburbs. In many areas such as outside...
